Dragonflight is Just a Few Weeks Away!
Excitement is building as Dragonflight swiftly approaches! The second phase of pre-patch drops on November 15th and with it brings the much awaited Evokers! November 28th we leave Shadowlands better than we found it and sally forth into a new adventure to, once again, save Azeroth.
With Dragonflight comes new dungeons and new raids! We will plan on hitting Dragonflight in full force and are working on a plan to make this next expansion our best expansion yet. Let’s go Empirical!
We want to hear what you have to say!
In reviewing the end of tier survey, we realized the value of collecting regular feedback. In the interest of continuing to improve our guild for everyone, we are implementing a feedback form on the guild website that can be filled out at any time if you have feedback, comments, or suggestions. This form can be filled out anonymously if the commenter wishes and can be found here: Feedback Form
If you need to navigate there from the website main page, it can be found under the “Contact Us” menu.
Dragonflight Raiding
The Leadership team is currently working on the plan for Dragonflight raiding. Stay tuned as more information on our raiding schedule as well as a comprehensive raid guide will be posted when they are ready.
Dragonflight Professions
With the next expansion has come a large revamp in how professions are handled from times past. They will include one of Blizzard’s favorite mechanics, Time Gated Resources as well, so we are going to try adding a light touch to the initial profession goals for a few of our guildies. Our goal is not necessarily to dictate what you can and cannot do with your professions, but only to make sure that we have a strong base for higher content in that we as a guild have access to everything necessary and don’t have to look to the auction house for as much. Our biggest goal in this is to make it so that we don’t have 3 blacksmiths only in the guild who can only make weapons, and similar conflicts in other crafting professions.
Generally speaking, we will be asking for the initial investments for the first 2-3 weeks to go in a specific direction for 2 / 3 people, afterwards you’re left to your own devices. I will go into more specifices in this document for each individual profession, and will have a TLDR at the end for anyone specifically avoiding spoilers until we hit the actual start date. Assignments for specific areas will come after those explanations.
Alchemy
For alchemy, we mainly want to make sure that someone is specializing in Potions, and one person in specializing in Phials. Until the expansion is in full swing, we won’t have the research to back up claims for BiS potions for a while, so the main thing is to make sure someone is doing both, and not everyone doing one. No specific points are being required by the guild, only training sections.
Enchanting
Similar to alchemy, we are only really looking to make sure we have access to everything. Until we know which specific enchants are going to be BiS as raid progresses, we actually have no directions for enchanting. You should have access to the correct things without much input on our part. Go to town.
Engineering
Engineering is a mostly individual aid, and there isn’t much that would help us to have overall for the guild. There may be some things hiding in Function over Form and Mechanical Mind, but if you’re an engineer, I think you’ll naturally gravitate to those when needed. Go to town.
Inscription
Our main desire here is to have access to vantus runes, missives, and dragon treatises. One person will focus on getting access to vantus with 20 points, and another putting 30 into getting missives and treatises. After that, go to town.
Tailoring
Similar to the other armor crafts, we will have a focus on the non-set armor pieces. It takes 60 point for someone to do garmentcraft and have access to belts, wrists, boots, and cloaks, the last being a major focus. Other than that, I believe we want one person going into Draconic Needlework with no point requirement other than to go into it.
Blacksmithing
For Blacksmithing, we are asking for one person to go into weaponsmithing, and another to go into armorsmithing. An officer has already volunteered to go into the weaponsmith section as it requires the most point investment (thank you Tooru), but other blacksmiths may be asked to help specialize in specific weapons as the need arises. For armor, we want to focus on getting access to creating all non-tier set pieces, as they will have a better likelihood of being used / needed as raid progression continues on. For armorsmiths we will ask that they use upwards of 70 points to access Shields, Boots (sabatoons), Wrists (vambraces), and Belts. The more available blacksmiths we have, the smaller that pool can be as we spread that need. For weaponsmiths, this can be up to 60 to gain access to all nodes, and that requirement can be lowered by additional blacksmiths
Herbalism, Skinning, Mining
I’m going to include all the gathering professions here as they all have the same level of guild requirements, which is none. We leave it to the individual where you want to focus on this. Our only comment is that they all have a main node that when fully researched will allow you to gather resources while mounted.
Jewelcrafting
Here we can have one person focusing on crafting the gems for sockets, and another focus on making necklaces and rings. I (Mire) will focus on the gems, and another will need to put at least 30 in accessing rings and necks.
Leatherworking
Leatherworking is going to have some people working on Mail, and others working on Leather. It will take roughly 50 points to have access to Belts, Writs, and boots for either option, filling in the non-setbonus items.
TLDR
For the most part, if your profession makes armor, someone will make armor for non-set pieces before doing whatever they want. Blacksmithing has an offshoot for weapons, tailoring has an offshoot for an expansion specific area. Most of the others will be assigned an area for the first few people to avoid doubling up on an area and leaving something behind for the AH to be bought. If you have a gathering profession, remember there is a way to unlock mounted gathering, but otherwise do what you want. Engineering do what you want. Inscription has a light touch but is otherwise do what you want. Alchemy is one for potions, one for phials, then do whatever.

For alchemy, since we have so many people, it might be helpful to start a group chat and help co-ordinate where everyone is focusing early-early on, but we SHOULD have plenty of work in that area regardless, so this is only a suggestion.
Community Nights
Come Dragonflight Community Night will be moving to Saturday at 8pm server. Additionally, we are working on a new activity suggestion/voting method to allow for a better selection of activities and events.
Community Event Spotlight
The Hallow’s End Celebration had a small but well dressed turnout, and even Gorwyk graced us with his presence. Critter took first place with his great purple witch transmog, and Hordepriest, Revy, and Savant all tied for second.
Following the costume contest we turned to the Jackbox Murder Party game. Much fun killing our friends with trivia was had. Some of us escaped with our lives.
Overall it was a fun time. A huge thankyou to everyone who came out to celebrate! 🎃
PvP Updates
With DF around the corner, we are making some adjustments to our PvP activities! In consideration to our Raid / Community calendar, Rated Battle Grounds will not be a scheduled activity, but will rather be scheduled ad-hoc. PvP is easiest to participate in during short, flexible sessions and historically, Ranked Arena (2v2 & 3v3) are the best brackets to learn and grow your skills – this will be our main focus in the coming seasons. Additionally, with Solo-Shuffle being a new bracket, now is the best time to hop in and see what PvP is all about!
To help guildies find arena partners, we will have an active roster pinned in the PvP chat (coming soon). This roster will help you see who in our guild is actively trying to que, what their spec is, and what rating they are currently at in each bracket. We would encourage each of you to find arena partners within the guild and learn/grow together. Davebob, Dill and Cub are each more than happy to show you the ropes and help you reach some modest goals, so don’t be afraid to get into our DM’s!!!
Davebob will also be posting PvP resources for you to take advantage of – usually these will have a focus on team compositions, BIS builds and emerging trends in each bracket! If you are trying to form a group, but don’t know where to start, reach out to Davebob or one of the officers! We can help start your PvP climbing journey.
